Shy but trying.  There is/was something about accountability in starting this blog in 2017.  It’s NaPoWriMo month, 2024. Every April is National/Global Poetry Writing Month. I started putting up poems here during poetry month as a way of holding myself accountable to a daily practice. Devoted reader, fan, and writer of poetry for much of my adult life, I’m a mother of daughters, partner of a good, talented man.  I’m a lover of the ways of nature, animals, and humans.   I’ve been a songwriter, a teacher, daughter, sister, friend to many.  I wake early and most days I’m writing.

I only seem to contribute here during National Poetry Writing Month.  This will be my 10th year of taking the poem-a-day-challenge.  These are rough, un-worked over poems that mostly spill out in response to the prompts offered each month.  I love the discipline and often, the surprise of it, and look forward to muddling through every year.  Here’s to another go!
