Kuan Yin Again
Almost always but never quite
wrecked on the shores of human
tragedy, I recede to watch, near
enough to touch or hold my hands
aloft in witness, say yes to ground
currents of distress- let it all pass
through to dissolve
You won’t notice the effort, I barely
do. Loyal to tasks I came to serve
unknowingly, til I discovered a girl’s
gotta lean against a cool brick wall
once in awhile to get her bearings.
Release the wail through the back
Of her brain.
Let the winds carry me, dark and light
shimmer of invisible grace to your
heart worn smooth with sorrow.
I will meet you there, whisper touch
on your shoulder, forehead kiss. Wake
and you’ll wonder where I’ve gone.
Find my fingerprints
on your cheek.
